Last week, we brought you pictures of a towering Palladium Boots mural featuring Pharrell Williams being erected on Lafayette Street in NYC. While we'll chalk up our initial suspicion that there would soon be a Fatburger in our midst to wishful thinking (and our addiction to french fries), its actual purpose is indeed to provide food for thought.
Turns out it was an advertisement for the California footwear company's "Tokyo Rising" project, which explores how Tokyo's artistic community is surviving in the wake of the natural disasters that rocked Japan earilier this year. In a series of five short films directed by Thalia Mayros, the series follows Pharrell through the capital city's still-vibrant streets--in Palladium boots, of course--and into the homes, studios, and hangouts of its creative players big and small. Check our Part 1 above, and then head inside to see the rest.
